A short concert showcasing exciting new compositions by young Cambridgeshire composers, including winning entries in this year’s Cambridge Young Composer of the Year Competition.

Inspired by this year’s Festival theme of ‘Movement’, the concert will include a specially commissioned work by last year's Cambridge Young Composer of the Year, Dominic Wills.

The pieces will be performed by the Hermes Experiment, an unusual combination of harp, clarinet, voice and double bass. The group is passionate about engaging audiences with contemporary classical music and have been described as “barmy but brilliant” (Classical Music Magazine) and as “opening a whole new expressive world.” (Evening Standard).
